It's hard being a small business owner at the moment, especially when it's with non-essentials. Buying jewellery at the moment isn't something that is at the top of our list of purchases, which is totally understandable!
But with the cost of materials increasing, I've noticed so many silversmiths saying on socials that they're having to put their prices up, which is something that I have considered but am really trying my hardest not to do. As you know, I've always prided myself on the fact that I'm making jewellery to suit all budgets, I want everyone to be able to treat themselves or loved ones without having to break the bank. And I intend to stay this way. So I'm keeping my prices from £10 for cuffs and £15 for the little studs which are always so popular!
Going back to the title of "Tools...", I wanted to let you know that to always progress and be able to keep my collections new and tempting, I have to be on top of my game and invest in new tools within my budget! After a run of really good markets, I recently bought myself a hydraulic press! I've been wanting one for a while now and when it was delivered, it was faulty! DEVASTATED does not even begin to describe how I felt!! But the company who I bought it from was so helpful and it's in the throws of being sorted! So, a new range will be on its way soon!
I will have textured pieces, wiggly pieces, and more impression pieces. I CAN'T WAIT! Plus I have a very exciting new range of sandcast pieces in the workshop which I will launch soon!
Going off topic for a moment...as I do...I was approached by a man at Cardiff Pride who wasn't happy with my selection of pieces of jewellery for men. So I'm working on improving my range of men's jewellery. I'm looking at chunky, big and manly pieces. Obviously all can be unisex, but I need to expand my range into masculine pieces. So keep your eyes peeled for that (the worst expression ever!).
As always... Thank you for reading this far and I hope you have THE BEST day
