A very belated Happy New Year to you all! Yes, we're nearly in February and I've not yet published a blog post this year!
I trust you all had a lovely Christmas and new year, whether you celebrate or not.
I wish I could say that my time off was a nice quiet time for reflection and making lovely plans for 2025. Alas, it was norovirus time and all I could do was concentrate on how close the bathroom was at all times!
Then it was tax return time. I have seen so many small business' post about how horrendous their tax returns were, and I wish I could say that mine was different and business has been thriving. Sadly that's not the case. Although I'm still fairly new, this will be my third PROPER year of trading, so I don't have a huge amount of comparison, but 2024 was absolutely awful for me. I did spread my wings, I did go further afield and try to spread by business to new locations. However, the economy wasn't on my side.
I have made the very difficult decision to give my business one more year, and if it doesn't pick up this year, I'm afraid I will have to massively step down, ideally not close completely but I will have less availability for commissions and I will be taking on less markets, so that I can work another job.
HOWEVER...I'm, not there just yet and I have some really REALLY exciting plans for 2025, possibly involving some workshops!!! But please keep that to yourselves, it's a big secret at the moment!!

For those of you who don't follow me on Instagram, I held a competition to win a heart pendant which went down an absolute storm! So a huge thank you to all who took part, it was really heart-warming and overwhelming!
