Well, last year I swore to myself that I'd be more prepared through the year, planning 2 seasons ahead and crafting 1 season ahead so that I'm ready to launch a new range in time for whatever event/season is pending.
ALAS... I have not! Here I am, just weeks before Mothers Day and I've not even FINISHED my collection! Oh my days... I've never EVER been organised. I crave organisation and preparation but I just cant seem to manifest it! Anyway, it is what it is (this seems to be my most used saying!!) and this is where I am. I find myself saying to people "I swear I'm more organised than this", but surely I cant be if I seem to keep saying it!
However, this post isn't about my disorganisation, this is about Mothers Day, not the fact that I'm not ready.
Where the heck did it come from?! Another Hallmark day? BTW, speaking of Hallmark days, did you see my Valentines Day post?! In the UK, Mothering Sunday is the 4th Sunday of Lent, that's 3 Sundays before Easter. The idea was that we were to pay our Mother Church a visit, calling it 'Going a-Mothering'. The focus slowly shifted from the Mother Church, to our own mothers. And so the snowball begins!
I think its a beautiful day, a day where we show our mums just how much we appreciate them. However it can be tough on those who aren't mums, those who desperately want to be mums, those who have lost mums... So, although I don't want to indulge in the commercialisation of it too much, I do want us to show love to all the mother figures out there, aunties, sisters, grandmothers, cousins, friends, pet mums, even the neighbour who has supported you. Lets take this time to appreciate the magic of womanhood and the mother inside us all.
Thank you again for reading and for always showing your support, it means the world.
